Biography

Emanuela Fiorelli was born in Rome in 1970, where she lives and works. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in 1993.

Between 1998 and 2001 she was awarded scholarships that allowed her to reside in Turkey, Poland and the United States.

In 2003 she was invited to the XIV Quadrennial “Anteprima Napoli”.

In 2004 he won the National Academy of San Luca/Painting Award.

In 2005 he participated in the exhibition Lucio Fontana and his legacy, where the aim was to highlight a line of continuity between Fontana’s work and that of some artists of subsequent generations.

In 2007 he developed an intervention and an installation as part of the “Mathematics and Culture” conference, Cà Foscari University, Venice.

In 2008 Gedok rewarded her with a solo exhibition at the Karlsruhe Art Biennial (Frankfurt).

In 2009 he participated in the exhibition Cromofobie – Paths of black and white in contemporary Italian art held at the Ex Aurum in Pescara. Recent exhibitions include participation in Experimenta, the Farnesina Collection of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which aims to promote the works of art of the latest generations abroad.

In 2010 he won the Banca Aletti Artverona Award for the painting/sculpture/installation and video session.

In 2012 she was invited by the Italian Cultural Institute in Lima (Peru) to exhibit her works at the Visual Art Gallery Centro Culturale Ccori Wasi Universidad Ricardo Palma.

Since 2012 he has created experiences in the performative field with Fogli in ARIA (Teatro Valle Occupato), In-tensioni reciprocal presented in Salerno, Milan, Venice and Rome, and At high tension presented at the Kilowatt Festival, the energy of the contemporary scene in Sansepolcro.

The 2013 exhibition White & White in the dialogue between Korea and Italy, Museo Carlo Bilotti, Rome and the installation “Di luce proprio” in the Church of the Artists, Piazza del Popolo, Rome.
Since the same year he has worked with the Denise René gallery in Paris with which he exhibited at Art Basel, at the FIAC and at the Costruttive Art / Kinetic Art exhibition held in Miami, Florida in 2014.

The 2016 exhibition The Sharper Perception, Dynamic Art, Optical and Beyond, at the GR Gallery in New York. In 2019 she was invited to present an Installation as part of the Negative Space exhibition at the ZKM Museum in Frankfurt and in the same year she won the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Award.
